Description

Jamp Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) is a vitamin supplement. It is typically used for the treatment of vitamin B6 deficiency and for the prevention of Isoniazid-induced peripheral neuropathy (damage to the nerves located outside of the brain and spinal cord (peripheral nerves) caused by an antibiotic called Isoniazid). It is also approved by Health Canada for the treatment of nausea and vomiting in pregnancy in a combination product with Doxylamine (anti-allergy medication). It may also have other uses.

Jamp Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine)'s dosage depends on the condition being treated. Your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer with or without food.
WARNING: Taking more than 1,000 mg of supplemental B6 a day may cause nerve damage and pain or numbness in the hands or feet.
In addition to its desired action, Jamp Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) may cause some side effects, notably:
It may cause a lack of muscle control or coordination of voluntary movements It may cause painful, disfiguring skin lesions
It main cause heartburn and nausea
It may cause sensitivity to sunlight
It may cause numbness, reduced ability to sense pain or extreme temperatures
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to pyridoxine, hypervitaminosis B6 (the result of a very high dose of one or more multiple vitamin preparations/supplements).
Adequate and well-controlled studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus in the first trimester of pregnancy (and there is no evidence of risk in later trimesters). If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.
