Description
Apo Raloxifene (Raloxifene) is an anti-osteoporosis (a health condition that weakens bones) agent. It is typically used for the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis in postmenopausal females and for risk reduction of invasive breast cancer in postmenopausal females with osteoporosis. It may also have other uses.

Apo Raloxifene (Raloxifene) is usually given once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer with or without food. WARNING: Raloxifene may increase the risk for deep vein thrombosis (a blood clot forms in a deep vein) and pulmonary embolism (a blockage in one of the pulmonary arteries in your lungs). The risk of death due to stroke is increased in postmenopausal females with coronary heart disease or at increased risk for major coronary events, consider risks versus benefits in females at risk for stroke. Concurrent use with systemic estrogen therapy is not recommended. Raloxifene is not indicated for use in men. Use is not indicated and not recommended in premenopausal women. These events may occur at anytime during therapy and without warning. In addition to its desired action, Apo Raloxifene (Raloxifene) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause peripheral edema (water retention in the peripheries) It may cause infections, hot flushes, joint pain and muscle cramps. It may cause abdominal pain, vomiting, flatulence and stomach diseases. It may cause weight gain, insomnia, skin rash and vaginal bleeding. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to Raloxifene or any component of the formulation, history of or current venous thromboembolic disorders (disorder that includes deep vein thrombosis) and pulmonary embolism, a deep vein thrombosis (DVT) occurs when a blood clot forms in a deep vein, usually in the lower leg, thigh, or pelvis., pregnancy Taking Apo Raloxifene (Raloxifene) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Apo Raloxifene (Raloxifene) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
