Description
Tomudex (Raltitrexed) is an anticancer agent. It is typically used to treat colorectal cancer (cancer that occurs in the colon or rectum). It may also have other uses.

Tomudex (Raltitrexed)'s dosage depends on the condition being treated. Your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a schedule that is more appropriate for you. Your doctor or nurse will administer Tomudex (Raltitrexed) to you in a hospital or clinical setting. WARNING: TOMUDEX may cause changes to your blood. These occur because of effects on your bone marrow and your liver. Your healthcare professional will take regular blood samples to check your blood. Use with caution in patients with elderly patients. Use with caution in patients who have received prior radiation therapy (a cancer treatment that uses high doses of radiation to kill cancer cells). In addition to its desired action, Tomudex (Raltitrexed) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause constipation, diarrhea, feeling of tiredness or weakness, flu-like symptoms. It may cause loss of hair, loss of appetite, muscle pain, nausea and vomiting, headache, skin rash. It may cause fever, peripheral edema (swelling), urinary tract infection, liver problems, anemia (a condition in which you lack enough healthy red blood cells to carry adequate oxygen to your body's tissues). Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to raltitrexed or any component of the formulation, severe kidneys and/or liver impairment, pregnancy or breastfeeding, use in patients who may become pregnant, use in children. Taking Tomudex (Raltitrexed) during pregnancy is contraindicated and harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Tomudex (Raltitrexed) requires regular monitoring by a doctor. Be sure to see your doctor for all regularly scheduled appointments.Tomudex (Raltitrexed)
