Description
Exelon 10 (Rivastigmine) is an anti-dementia agent. It is typically used for the treatment of mild to moderate dementia (memory loss of the Alzheimer type and mild to moderate dementia) memory loss associated with Parkinson’s disease (Parkinson’s disease is a brain disorder that leads to shaking, stiffness and difficulty with walking, balance and coordination). It may also have other uses.

Exelon 10 (Rivastigmine)'s dosage depends on the condition, it is usually given once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. WARNING: It may cause impairment of the physical or mental abilities, patients must be cautioned about performing tasks that require mental alertness (e.g., operating machinery or driving), significant nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or anorexia (loss of appetite for food) weight loss, decreased appetite are associated with use, occurs more frequently in women and during the titration phase. The incidence and severity of these reactions are dose-related, dehydration may result from prolonged vomiting or diarrhea. Monitor weight during therapy. Use with caution in patients with respiratory disease, neurological disease and people with high stomach acidity level. These events may occur at anytime during therapy and without warning. In addition to its desired action, Exelon 10 (Rivastigmine) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause weight loss, headache, dizziness and agitation. It may cause abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and tremor. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to rivastigmine, other carbamate derivatives, or any component of the formulation, severe hepatic impairment, history of severe skin reactions. Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women.
