Description
Actikerall (Salicylic Acid Fluorouracile) is a combination of two agents. It is typically used for the treatment of slightly palpable and moderately thick hyperkeratotic actinic keratosis (a rough, scaly patch on the skin that develops from years of sun exposure) of the face, forehead, and balding scalp in immunocompetent (patient with a normal immunity) adults. It may also have other uses.

Actikerall (Salicylic Acid Fluorouracile)'s dosage depends on the condition, it is usually given once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Actikerall should only come into contact with the lesion and a very small area of healthy skin surrounding the lesion. Clean the affected area with warm water and wait until the skin has completely dried before applying the solution. This medication comes in a bottle with a brush applicator attached to the cap. Wipe the brush on the neck of the bottle before applying it to the affected area. After applying the solution to the lesion, let the solution dry on the skin, uncovered. A white film will form over the affected area. This improves the absorption of the medication into the lesion and protects the lesion from dirt and debris. Do not cover the treatment area with any type of dressing. Before applying the next dose, peel the film off the lesion to expose it to the next dose of medication. Warm water may also help remove the film. WARNING: Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight irradiation during treatment, reaction intensity may be increased. Localized skin reactions such as redness, inflammation, irritation (including burning), pain and bleeding may occur. Reactions are typically mild or moderate but severe reactions have been observed. increased absorption through skin may lead to an increase in incidence and frequency of adverse reactions. Concurrent use with topical products with drying, peeling or abrasive properties may result in cumulative irritant and drying effect. Discontinue immediately for signs of hypersensitivity (severe allergy). Avoid application to the eye area. These events may occur at anytime during therapy and without warning. In addition to its desired action, Actikerall (Salicylic Acid Fluorouracile) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause application site dryness, stinging of the skin and skin erosion. It may cause application site pain, headache, skin irritation and eye irritation. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity (severe allergy) to fluorouracil capecitabine, salicylic acid or any component of the formulation, dihydropyrimidine enzyme deficiency, patients who are or may become pregnant. Concurrent use with brivudine, sorivudine, and analogues, breastfeeding, used in eyes or mucous membranes, kidney diseases. Taking Actikerall (Salicylic Acid Fluorouracile) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method.
