Description
Vesicare (Solifenacin) is an antispasmodic agent (relieves, prevents, or lowers the incidence of muscle spasms). It is typically used to treat symptoms of overactive bladder, such as frequent or urgent urination, urine leakage, feelings of needing to urinate right away, and frequent trips to the bathroom. It may also have other uses.

Vesicare (Solifenacin) is typically used once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer tablet with water without regard to food. Swallow whole. Do not crush or chew. WARNING: Angioedema (edema, or swelling, of the area beneath the skin or mucosa involving the face, lips, tongue, and/or larynx, which is the area of the throat containing the vocal cords and use for breathing, swallowing, and talking) have been reported, some cases have occurred after the first dose. May be life-threatening. Immediately discontinue and institute supportive care if tongue, or larynx is involved. Use with caution in patients with severe constipation. Use with caution in patients with controlled (treated) narrow-angle glaucoma (eye disease), use is contraindicated in uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma. Use with caution in patients with moderate liver impairment, dosage adjustment required, use is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease. Use with caution in patients with heart problems, with renal (kidney) impairment, dosage adjustment is required for severe renal (kidney) impairment. In addition to its desired action, Vesicare (Solifenacin) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause constipation, upper abdominal pain It may cause dry mouth, nausea It may cause influenza, urinary tract infection Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to solifenacin or any component of the formulation, urinary retention (tablet only), gastric retention, uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma (eye problem) Taking Vesicare (Solifenacin) during pregnancy is harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Vesicare (Solifenacin) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
