Description
PMS Topiramate (Topiramate) is an antiepileptic agent. It is typically used to treat epilepsy (a neurological disorder causing seizures or periods of unusual behavior, sensations, and sometimes loss of awareness) and to prevent migraines (severe headaches). It may also have other uses.

PMS Topiramate (Topiramate) is usually given once or twice daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. It can be taken with or without food. Swallow the whole tablet with a full glass of water. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often than prescribed. Do not crush, break, or chew. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. WARNING: Topiramate may cause elevated levels of ammonia in the blood, which can cause changes in mental alertness. This medication may also alter mental abilities (confusion, slowing of movements, difficulty with concentration/attention, difficulty with memory, speech or language problems), psychiatric disturbances (depression or mood disorders), and sedation (somnolence or fatigue). The incidence of such effect may be related to rapid titration and higher doses. Use with caution in patients with depression or suicidal thoughts and behavior. Use with caution in patients with liver or kidney disease, the dose may be adjusted accordingly. In addition to its desired action, PMS Topiramate (Topiramate) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause an altered taste, decreased appetite, nausea, or constipation. It may cause dizziness, drowsiness, fatigue, or headaches. It may cause an aggressive behavior, agitation, mood swings, or nervousness. It may cause burning or tingling sensations, confusion, memory problems, or coordination problems. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to Topiramate or any component of the formulation. Pregnant women or women of childbearing age not using an effective contraceptive method should not use this product. Taking PMS Topiramate (Topiramate) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with PMS Topiramate (Topiramate) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
