Description
Imovane (Zopiclone) is a hypnotic and sedative agent. It is typically used for the short-term and symptomatic relief of insomnia characterized by difficulty in falling asleep, frequent nocturnal awakenings, and/or early morning awakenings. It may also have other uses.

Imovane (Zopiclone) is typically used once daily at bedtime. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer just before bedtime. It can be taken with or without food. WARNING: Complex sleep behaviors including sleep-walking, sleep-driving, and engaging in other activities while not fully awake may occur. Some of these events may result in serious injuries, including death In addition to its desired action, Imovane (Zopiclone) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause palpitations (heart racing) It may cause aggressiveness behavior, anxiety, bitter taste, confusion, daytime sedation, depression, dizziness, drowsiness It may cause diaphoresis (excessive sweating) It may cause anorexia (loss of appetite for food), constipation Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to zopiclone or any component of the formulation, severe respiratory impairment (e.g., significant sleep apnea syndrome), myasthenia gravis (weakness in the skeletal muscles that worsens after periods of activity and improves after periods of rest), severe hepatic (liver) insufficiency, history of complex sleep behaviors after taking any non-benzodiazepine sedative/hypnotic (similar agents). Taking Imovane (Zopiclone) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Imovane (Zopiclone) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
