Description
Acuvail (Ketorolac) is an anti-inflammatory agent. It is typically used to treat eye pain and swelling (inflammation) after cataract surgery. It may also have other uses.

Acuvail (Ketorolac) is typically used twice daily starting 1 day before surgery, continuing on the day of surgery, and then for 2 weeks after surgery. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Remove contact lenses prior to administration and wait 15 minutes before re-inserting. may be used with other eye drops. If using more than 1 ophthalmic product, wait at least 5 minutes between application of each medication. Minimize contamination by not touching the eyelids or surrounding areas with the dropper tip, keep bottle tightly closed when not in used. Also, to minimize the risk of infection following surgery of both eyes, two separate bottles of eye drops (one for each eye) should be used, do not use the same bottle for both eyes. WARNING: Use with caution in patients with a predisposition to bleeding (bleeding tendencies), with diabetes mellitus. Use with caution in patients with complicated eye surgeries, eye problems. Use with caution in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (inflammatory disease mainly affecting the joints). In addition to its desired action, Acuvail (Ketorolac) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause burning sensation of eyes, stinging of eyes It may cause hypersensitivity reaction, headache, blurred vision, eye irritation, eye pain, superficial eye infection Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to ketorolac or any component of the formulation. Taking Acuvail (Ketorolac) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Acuvail (Ketorolac) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
