Description
Aloxi (Palonosetron) is an antiemetic agent. It is typically used to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by cancer drug treatment (chemotherapy). It may also have other uses.

Aloxi (Palonosetron) is typically used as one dose before chemotherapy (cancer treatment). However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer this drug ~1 hour prior to the start of chemotherapy. May be administered with or without food. WARNING: Use with caution in patients with congenital long QT syndrome (a hereditary cardiac disease) or other factors that may prolong QT interval. In addition to its desired action, Aloxi (Palonosetron) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause constipation, fatigue, headache, bradycardia (a slower than normal heart rate). It may cause diarrhea, sleep disorders. Contraindications: Known hypersensitivity to palonosetron or any component of the formulation Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Aloxi (Palonosetron) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
