Description
Alta Celecoxib (Celecoxib) is a painkiller. It is typically used to treat the symptoms of osteoarthritis (a degenerative joint disease), ankylosing spondylitis (a long-term condition in which the spine and other areas of the body become inflamed), and rheumatoid arthritis (a condition where the immune system attacks the cells that line your joints) by adults. It may also have other uses.

Alta Celecoxib (Celecoxib) is typically given once or twice daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Celecoxib may be taken with or without food. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. WARNING: Celecoxib may cause stomach problems such as ulcers (sores) or bleeding. The use of celecoxib is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular events such as heart attacks and strokes. The risk is increased with higher total daily doses and when taking the medication over long periods of time. Celecoxib may cause fluid retention and swelling, possibly worsening high blood pressure, congestive heart failure, or decreased heart function. In addition to its desired action, Alta Celecoxib (Celecoxib) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause dizziness, drowsiness, and an increased sensitivity to sunlight. It may cause heartburn, nausea, blurred vision or other vision changes. It may cause digestive system problems (e.g., vomiting, ongoing indigestion, nausea, stomach pain, or diarrhea). It may cause signs of bleeding (e.g., unusual bruising or bleeding, bloody nose, blood in urine, coughing blood, cuts that won't stop bleeding) Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to celecoxib, sulfonamides, aspirin, other NSAIDs (same class of medication as celecoxib), or any component of the formulation. Patients who have experienced asthma (narrowing of airways), urticaria (hives), or allergic-type reactions after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs should not take Alta Celecoxib (Celecoxib). Its use in the setting of CABG surgery (a type of heart surgery) is contraindicated. Taking Alta Celecoxib (Celecoxib) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Alta Celecoxib (Celecoxib) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
