Description
Apo Capto (Captopril) is an antihypertensive agent. It is typically used for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure), heart failure and different forms of heart disease. It may also have other uses.

Apo Capto (Captopril) is typically used as a loading dose, then three times daily for pressure the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure), heart failure and forms of different heart disease. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Take on an empty stomach 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals. WARNING: It might cause in rare cases angioedema (water retention), blood count disturbances, a dry cough that might be associated with the start of Captopril, decrease in renal (kidney) function and severe allergic reactions. In addition to its desired action, Apo Capto (Captopril) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause confusion, depression, cardiac arrest, decrease blood pressure. It may cause fever, rash, vertigo, dizziness, blurred vision, muscle pain, weakness. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to captopril, any other angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor (similar agents), or any component of the formulation, angioedema (water retention) related to previous treatment with an ACE inhibitor. Taking Apo Capto (Captopril) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Apo Capto (Captopril) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
