Description
Apo Cefuroxime (Cefuroxime) is an antibiotic. It is typically used for the treatment of different types of infections including streptococcal pharyngitis, group A, skin infections, urinary tract infections, lyme disease, acute bacterial infection of the sinuses, otitis media and acute exacerbation chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. It may also have other uses.

Apo Cefuroxime (Cefuroxime)'s dosage depends on the condition, it is usually given twice daily in the usual range (500 mg - 1000 mg). However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer with or without food. WARNING: Serious and occasionally severe or fatal hypersensitivity reactions have been reported in patients receiving beta-lactam drugs (similar agents). Before initiating therapy, carefully investigate previous penicillin, cephalosporin (the antibiotic class of cefuroxime), or other allergen hypersensitivity. Prolonged use may result in fungal or bacterial superinfection, including C. difficile-associated diarrhea (diarrhea caused by bacteria). Should not be crushed or chewed due to a strong, persistent bitter taste. Patients unable to swallow whole tablets should be prescribed oral suspension. Adjust dose for renal (kidney) function. These events may occur at anytime during therapy and without warning. In addition to its desired action, Apo Cefuroxime (Cefuroxime) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause diarrhea, nausea and vomiting. It may cause vaginal infections and blood cell count changes. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to cefuroxime, any component of the formulation, or other beta-lactam antibacterial drugs (e.g., penicillins and cephalosporins) Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Apo Cefuroxime (Cefuroxime) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
