Description

Apo Desvenlafaxine (Desvenlafaxine) is an antidepressant.  It is typically used for the treatment of major depressive disorder. It may also have other uses.

Additional information

Apo Desvenlafaxine (Desvenlafaxine)'s dosage depends on the condition, it is usually given once daily in the usual range (50 mg - 100 mg). However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer with or without food.

WARNING: Antidepressants increased the risk of suicidal thoughts and behavior. in patients of all ages who are started on antidepressant therapy, monitor closely for worsening and for emergence of suicidal thoughts and behaviors. Advise families and caregivers of the need for close observation and communication with the prescriber. These events may occur at anytime during therapy and without warning.

In addition to its desired action, Apo Desvenlafaxine (Desvenlafaxine) may cause some side effects, notably:
It may cause xerostomia (a condition in which the salivary glands in your mouth don't make enough saliva to keep your mouth wet, resulting in dry mouth)
It may cause nausea, insomnia, and dizziness. 
It may cause hyperhidrosis (abnormally excessive sweating that's not necessarily related to heat or exercise)
 
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to desvenlafaxine, venlafaxine or any component of the formulation, used medications intended to treat psychiatric disorders (concurrently or within 14 days of discontinuing the medications intended to treat psychiatric disorders), initiation of medication intended to treat psychiatric disorders within 7 days of discontinuing desvenlafaxine, initiation of desvenlafaxine in a patient receiving linezolid or intravenous methylene blue.

Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.
