Description
Apo Flecainide (Flecainide) is an antiarrhythmic agent. It is typically used for the prevention of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation/flutter and paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardias (rapid heart rhythm originating in the upper chambers of the heart) and ventricular arrhythmias (abnormal heartbeats that originate in your lower heart chambers, called ventricles). It may also have other uses.

Apo Flecainide (Flecainide)'s dosage depends on the condition, it is usually given twice daily usual range (100 mg - 400 mg). However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer with or without food and dose reduction should be considered when milk is removed from the diet. WARNING: Proarrhythmic effects (including increased premature ventricular contractions, ventricular tachycardia, ventricular fibrillation, and death) have been reported in patients with atrial fibrillation, fibrillation who received flecainide, use is not recommended for patients with chronic atrial fibrillation. When treating atrial flutter, atrioventricular conduction (conduction of the atrial impulses to the ventricles is delayed or completely blocked) may occur. Avoid use in patients with heart failure, use with caution in patients with renal (kidney) and hepatic (liver) impairment. These events may occur at anytime during therapy and without warning. In addition to its desired action, Apo Flecainide (Flecainide) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause abdominal pain, diarrhea, weakness, dizziness, visual disturbances, dyspnea. It may cause palpitation, chest pain, edema (water retention), tachycardia (rapid heart rate), headache, fatigue, nervousness. It may cause vertigo, somnolence, anxiety, insomnia, depression It may cause nausea, constipation, abdominal pain, anorexia (loss of appetite for food), diarrhea, tremor, weakness Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to flecainide or any component of the formulation, cardiogenic shock (heart suddenly stops pumping enough oxygen-rich blood to your body), concurrent use of ritonavir Taking Apo Flecainide (Flecainide) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. There is no available data regarding the harm of Apo Flecainide (Flecainide) for the fetus, therefore it is not recommended to use it. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Apo Flecainide (Flecainide) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
