Description
Apo Gabapentin (Gabapentin) is an anticonvulsant agent. It is typically used for the treatment of seizures and postherpetic neuralgia (most common complication of shingles. The condition affects nerve fibers and skin, causing burning pain that lasts long after the rash and blisters of shingles disappear). It may also have other uses.

Apo Gabapentin (Gabapentin) is typically taken three times daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. May administer without regards to meals. Administer first dose on first day at bedtime to avoid somnolence and dizziness. Dosage must be adjusted for renal function, when given 3 times daily, the maximum time between doses should not exceed 12 hours. Capsules may be opened and sprinkled on food (e.g., applesauce, orange juice, pudding) for patients unable to swallow capsules. WARNING: Use with caution in patients with myasthenia gravis (weakness in the skeletal muscles that worsens after periods of activity and improves after periods of rest), may exacerbate condition In addition to its desired action, Apo Gabapentin (Gabapentin) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause lack of muscle coordination It may cause dizziness, drowsiness It may cause fatigue, sleep for unusually long periods It may cause double vision and repetitive eye movement Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to gabapentin or any component of the formulation Taking Apo Gabapentin (Gabapentin) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Apo Gabapentin (Gabapentin) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
