Description
Apo Memantine (Memantine) is an anti-Alzheimer’s agent. It is typically used to treat moderate to severe forms of Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer’s disease is a brain disorder that slowly destroys memory and thinking skills, and, eventually, the ability to carry out the simplest tasks. It may also have other uses.

Apo Memantine (Memantine) is typically given once or twice a day. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Memantine can be taken with or without food. Swallow the whole tablet with a full glass of water. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often than prescribed. Do not crush, break, or chew. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. WARNING: Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular disease, liver disease, and seizure disorders. Memantine may increase the risk of seizures. Patients with severe kidney impairment might require adjusting the dose of Memantine. This medication may build up in the tear fluid and cause changes in the eyes and in vision. In addition to its desired action, Apo Memantine (Memantine) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause constipation, vomiting, or loss of appetite. It may cause confusion, dizziness, headache, agitation, delusion, or hallucinations. It may cause an increase in blood pressure (hypertension) or a decrease (hypotension). It may cause weight gain, changes in the frequency of urination, or changes in balance and coordination especially when walking. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to Memantine or other components of the formulation. Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. If you're planning a pregnancy, become pregnant, or are breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Apo Memantine (Memantine) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
