Description
Apo Mometasone (Mometasone) is a corticosteroid agent. It is typically used for the treatment of nasal symptoms of seasonal allergic and perennial allergic rhinitis (a condition causing sneezing, itching, nasal congestion, and runny nose), relief of nasal congestion associated with seasonal allergic rhinitis and prevention of nasal symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis. It may also have other uses.

Apo Mometasone (Mometasone) is typically used once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. For intranasal administration only. Prime pump (press 10 times or until fine spray appears) prior to first use. If 7 or more days have elapsed since last use, reprime pump with 2 sprays or until a fine mist appears. Shake before using. Blow nose to clear nostrils. Insert applicator into nostril, tilt head slightly forward keeping bottle upright, and close off the other nostril. Breathe in through nose. While inhaling, press pump to release spray, exhale through mouth. After each use, wipe the spray tip with a clean tissue and replace cap. Avoid spraying directly into nasal septum, eyes or mouth. Discard after 120 medicated sprays have been used, even if bottle is not completely empty. WARNING: Avoid nasal corticosteroid use in patients with nasal surgery, or nasal trauma until healing has occurred. In addition to its desired action, Apo Mometasone (Mometasone) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause viral infections It may cause headaches It may cause chronic sinusitis (swelling of a group of four paired air-filled spaces that surround the nasal cavity), epistaxis (nasal bleeding) It may cause chest pain Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to mometasone or any component of the formulation. Taking Apo Mometasone (Mometasone) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.
