Description
Apo Naproxen EC (Naproxen enteric-coated) is a painkiller agent. It is typically used for the relief of minor aches and pains in muscles, bones and joints, mild to moderate pain accompanied by inflammation in sprains and strains and painful menstruation. It is also given for the treatment of the signs and symptoms of arthritis (inflammation of the joints), rheumatoid arthritis (an autoimmune, inflammatory joint disease), and juvenile rheumatoid arthritis It may also have other uses.

Apo Naproxen EC (Naproxen enteric-coated) is typically used twice daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer with food, milk, or antacids to decrease stomach and intestinal adverse effects. Swallow tablet whole, do not break, crush, or chew. WARNING: It may cause an increased risk of serious (and potentially fatal) adverse cardiovascular thrombotic events, including fatal MI (heart attack) and stroke. Risk may occur early during treatment and may increase with duration of use. It may cause an increased risk of serious stomach and intestinal inflammation, bleeding, and perforation (may be fatal), elderly patients and patients with history of peptic ulcer disease (lesion in the stomach and intestine) and/or stomach and intestinal bleeding are at greater risk. These events may occur at anytime during therapy and without warning. In addition to its desired action, Apo Naproxen EC (Naproxen enteric-coated) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause dyspepsia (indigestion) It may cause headaches It may cause chest pain, edema (swelling), hypertension (high blood pressure), palpitations (racing heart) It may cause diaphoresis (excessive sweating), pruritus (itching), skin rash Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to naproxen or any component of the formulation, history of asthma (a respiratory condition marked by attacks of spasm in the bronchi of the lungs, causing difficulty in breathing), urticaria (hives), or allergic-type reactions after taking aspirin or similar agents to naproxen, use in the setting of coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Pregnant women should not use this product in the third trimester. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Apo Naproxen EC (Naproxen enteric-coated) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
