Description
Apo Terazosin (Terazosin) is an antihypertensive agent. It is typically used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) or to treat the symptoms of benign prostate hyperplasia (a condition in men in which the prostate gland is enlarged and not cancerous). It may also have other uses.

Apo Terazosin (Terazosin) is typically used once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer this drug at bedtime. WARNING: The first few doses of terazosin can cause extreme lowering of blood pressure, especially when moving from a lying or sitting position to a standing position. Sometimes even loss of consciousness can occur. A similar effect may occur if the medication is taken again after stopping it for more than a few doses, if the dose is rapidly increased, or if another blood-pressure-lowering medication is added. Because of the risk of extreme lowering of blood pressure, avoid driving or hazardous tasks for 12 hours after the initial dose of terazosin, after the dose is increased, and after interruption of therapy when treatment is resumed. In addition to its desired action, Apo Terazosin (Terazosin) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause abdominal pain or discomfort, back or joint pain, blurred vision, constipation. It may cause diarrhea, difficulty sleeping, dizziness, dry mouth, headache, depression. It may cause edema (swelling), vomiting, tachycardia (rapid heart action), low blood pressure. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to terazosin or any component of the formulation. Taking Apo Terazosin (Terazosin) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Apo Terazosin (Terazosin) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
