Description
Atacand Plus (Candesartan Hydrochlorothiazide) is an antihypertensive agent. It is typically used for hypertension (high blood pressure). It may also have other uses.

Atacand Plus (Candesartan Hydrochlorothiazide) is typically taken once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer with or without food. WARNING: This medication can cause injury and death to the developing fetus. Discontinue as soon as possible once pregnancy is detected. Avoid use in infants <1 year of age due to potential effects on the development of immature kidneys. In addition to its desired action, Atacand Plus (Candesartan Hydrochlorothiazide) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause back or leg pain, constipation, decreased appetite It may cause decreased interest in sexual activity, diarrhea It may cause dizziness or lightheadedness when rising from a lying or sitting position It may cause drowsiness, headache, muscle cramps, pain Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to candesartan, hydrochlorothiazide or other sulfonamide-derived drugs (sulfadiazine, sulfamethizole), or any component of the formulation, anuria (failure of the kidneys to produce urine), concomitant use with aliskiren in patients with diabetes mellitus Taking Atacand Plus (Candesartan Hydrochlorothiazide) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Atacand Plus (Candesartan Hydrochlorothiazide) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
