Description

Atropine (Atropine) is an anticholinergic agent. It is typically used for the management of bradycardia (slow heart rate). It may also have other uses.

Atropine (Atropine)'s dosage depends on the condition. Your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a schedule that is more appropriate for you. Your doctor or nurse will administer Atropine (Atropine) to you in a hospital or clinical setting. 

WARNING: Use with caution in patients with brain damage, these patients are particularly susceptible to brain or mental disturbances and heart and stomach toxicity. Use with caution in patients with kidney and liver impairment, use with caution in patient with high eye pressure. These events may occur at anytime during therapy and without warning.

In addition to its desired action, Atropine (Atropine) may cause some side effects, notably:
It may cause flushing, hypotension (low blood pressure), increased blood pressure, and tachycardia (increased heart rate).
It may cause irritability, restlessness, blurred vision, eye pain, eye water retention and stinging of eyes.

Contraindications: Hypersensitivity (severe allergy) to atropine or any component of the formulation.

Taking Atropine (Atropine) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. There is no available data regarding the harm of Atropine (Atropine) for the fetus, therefore it is not recommended to use it.
