Description
Auro Metronidazole (Metronidazole) is an antibiotic. It is typically used to treat infections caused by certain bacteria. It is most commonly used for lung, brain, abdominal, vaginal, and intestinal infections. It may also have other uses.

Auro Metronidazole (Metronidazole) is typically used two to three times per day. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. May administer with food to minimize stomach upset. WARNING: prolonged use may result in fungal or bacterial superinfection (additional infection). Use with caution in patients with liver impairment, renal (kidney) impairment. Use with caution in patients with a history of seizure disorders (abnormal brain activity). In addition to its desired action, Auro Metronidazole (Metronidazole) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause nausea, vomiting, or stomach pain It may cause intense genital itching (pruritus), vaginitis (an inflammation of the vagina) It may cause headaches, dizziness, or sleepiness It may cause flu-like symptoms, metallic taste in the mouth, or noises such as buzzing, ringing, or whistling heard in the ear. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to metronidazole, or any component of the formulation, pregnant patients (first trimester) with trichomoniasis (a common sexually transmitted infection caused by a parasite), use of disulfiram within the past 2 weeks, use of alcohol or propylene glycol-containing products during therapy or within 3 days of therapy discontinuation Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Pregnant women should try to avoid this agent during the first trimester. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.
