Description

Biacna (Clindamycin Tretinoin) is an anti-acne agent that contains an antibiotic. It is typically used for adults and adolescents 12 years of age and older, to treat acne (skin condition that happens when hair follicles under the skin become clogged). It may also have other uses.

Additional information

Biacna (Clindamycin Tretinoin) is typically used once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. For external use only. Not for ophthalmic (eye), oral, or intravaginal use. Prior to application, gently wash face with a mild soap and pat dry. Apply in the evening or at bedtime. Apply a pea-size amount to one fingertip and then dotted on chin, cheeks, nose, and forehead. Avoid contact with sunburned skin. Gently rub over entire face or entire affected area while avoiding eyes, mouth, angles of nose, and mucous membranes.
WARNING: Use is not recommended in patients with sunburn. Prolonged use may result in fungal or bacterial superinfection (additional infection)
In addition to its desired action, Biacna (Clindamycin Tretinoin) may cause some side effects, notably:
It may cause sinus infections, skin irritation due to dryness, redness, peeling, burning, stinging
It may cause sunburn, temporary change in skin color
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to clindamycin, tretinoin, or any component of the formulation, hypersensitivity to lincomycin. Use is contraindicated in regional enteritis (a condition in which the stomach or intestine area is inflamed over a long period of time), ulcerative colitis (abnormal condition, inflammation in the intestine), history of antibiotic-associated colitis (inflammation of the large intestine)
Taking Biacna (Clindamycin Tretinoin) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.
