Description

Cefotaxime (Cefotaxime) is an antibiotic. It is typically used to treat certain infections caused by bacteria including pneumonia and other lower respiratory tract (lung) infections, gonorrhea (a sexually transmitted disease), meningitis (infection of the membranes that surround the brain and spinal cord) and other brain and spinal cord infections, and abdominal (stomach area), female reproductive organs, skin, blood, bone, joint, and urinary tract infections. It may also have other uses.

Cefotaxime (Cefotaxime)'s dosage depends on the condition being treated. Your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a schedule that is more appropriate for you. Your doctor or nurse will administer Cefotaxime (Cefotaxime) to you in a hospital or clinical setting. WARNING: Use with caution in patients with a history of colitis (inflammation of the inner lining of the colon that is a part of the large intestine). Use with caution in patients with renal (kidney) impairment, dosage adjustment may be required.

It may cause headaches, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, headache. It may cause inflammation at injection site, fever, skin rash.
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to cefotaxime, any component of the formulation, or similar agents.
Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women.
