Description
Celsentri (Maraviroc) is an antiviral agent. It is typically used in combination with other medications to treat human immunodeficiency virus (HIV, a virus that attacks the body’s immune system. If HIV is not treated, it can lead to AIDS). It may also have other uses.

Celsentri (Maraviroc) is typically used twice daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Take this drug with or without food. WARNING: Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular (heart) problems. Use with caution in patients with renal (kidney) problems. Use with caution in patients with hepatic (liver) problems. In addition to its desired action, Celsentri (Maraviroc) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause skin rash, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea. It may cause infection, fever, difficulty sleeping, headache. It may cause bronchitis, cough, upper respiratory tract infections. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to maraviroc or any component of Celsentri (Maraviroc). Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant, or breastfeeding contact your family doctor. A treatment with Celsentri (Maraviroc) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
