Description
Ciloxan (Ciprofloxacin) is an antibiotic. It is typically used for the treatment of superficial ocular (eye) infections (corneal ulcers (lesions of the transparent layer forming the front of the eye), conjunctivitis (red eye)) due to susceptible strains of bacteria. It may also have other uses.

Ciloxan (Ciprofloxacin)'s dosage depends on the condition (1/2 inch (1.5 centimeters) strip of ointment). However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. For topical ophthalmic (eye) use only, avoid touching tip of the tube to eye or other surfaces. Contact lenses should be removed prior to administration. WARNING: prolonged use may result in fungal or bacterial superinfection (additional infection). If superinfection is suspected, institute appropriate alternative therapy. In addition to its desired action, Ciloxan (Ciprofloxacin) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause crystals in the corner of the eye, noticeable taste or change in taste, stinging, burning, irritation of the eye Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to ciprofloxacin, any component of the formulation, or other quinolones (similar agents) Taking Ciloxan (Ciprofloxacin) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Ciloxan (Ciprofloxacin) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
