Description
Cipro (Ciprofloxacin) is an antibiotic. It is typically used for the treatment of the following infections when caused by susceptible bacteria: infections of the skin, sinuses (a cavity within a bone or other tissue, especially one in the bones of the face or skull connecting with the nasal cavities), bone, lung, abdomen, kidney, prostate, and bladder. It may also have other uses.

Cipro (Ciprofloxacin) is typically taken twice daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Take it with or without food. Drink plenty of fluids while you are using this medicine. Drinking extra water will help prevent some unwanted effects of ciprofloxacin. Do not take this medicine alone with milk, yogurt, or other dairy products. Do not drink any juice with calcium added when you take this medicine. Shake the container well for 15 seconds before pouring each dose. Carefully measure the dose using a special measuring device/spoon. Do not use a household spoon because you may not get the correct dose. Do not chew the contents of the suspension. WARNING: prolonged use may result in fungal or bacterial superinfection (additional infection). Use caution in patients with renal (kidney) impairment, dosage adjustments may be required. In addition to its desired action, Cipro (Ciprofloxacin) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause changed sense of smell or taste, dizziness, general feeling of being unwell It may cause increased skin sensitivity to the sun, lightheadedness, loss of appetite Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to ciprofloxacin, any component of the formulation, or other quinolones, concurrent administration of tizanidine Taking Cipro (Ciprofloxacin) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Cipro (Ciprofloxacin) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
