Description

Cuvposa (Glycopyrrolate) an anticholinergic agent (agent that reduce saliva). It is typically used to reduce drooling (when saliva pools outside the mouth involuntarily) in children ages 3 to 16 who have certain medical conditions that affect the brain. It may also have other uses.

Additional information

Cuvposa (Glycopyrrolate) is typically used three times daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Take on an empty stomach at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals. Measure liquid doses carefully. Use the measuring device that comes with this drug.
WARNING: Use with caution in patients with hyperthyroidism (a condition that occurs when the thyroid gland makes more thyroid hormones than the body needs). Use with caution in patients with hepatic (liver) impairment. Use with caution in patients with renal (kidney) impairment. Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular (heart) problems.
In addition to its desired action, Cuvposa (Glycopyrrolate) may cause some side effects, notably:
It may cause constipation, diarrhea, dry mouth, flushing of the face or skin, headache, vomiting. It may cause upper respiratory tract infections, blurred vision, high blood pressure.
Contraindications: If you are allergic to glycopyrrolate or any ingredients of the medication, if you are taking potassium chloride tablets or capsules, if you have glaucoma (high eye pressure), if you have a blockage in the urinary tract, if you have a blockage in the digestive tract, if you have uncontrolled heart disease or high blood pressure, if you have severe inflammation of the colon (part of the large intestine), if you have myasthenia gravis (a condition that causes weakness in certain muscles).
Taking Cuvposa (Glycopyrrolate) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.
