Daxas (Roflumilast)

Daxas (Roflumilast) is usually given once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer with or without food. 

WARNING: Neuropsychiatric effects (mental disorders) (e.g., anxiety, depression, insomnia) have been reported with use but rarely. Suicidal behavior or ideation and completed suicide were reported. Risk versus benefits assessment should be done before in patients with a history of depression with suicidal behavior or ideations, patients and caregivers should report psychiatric symptoms (mental symptoms) and consider discontinuation of therapy in such patients. Weight loss has occurred, monitor weight regularly. If unexplained or significant weight loss occurs, discontinuation should be considered. Use with caution in patients with mild liver impairment. These events may occur at anytime during therapy and without warning.

In addition to its desired action, Daxas (Roflumilast) may cause some side effects, notably:
It may cause headaches, dizziness and insomnia (difficulty sleeping).
It may cause weight loss, diarrhea, nausea, decrease in appetite, influenza and back pain.

Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to roflumilast or any component of the formulation. Moderate to severe hepatic (liver) impairment.

Taking Daxas (Roflumilast) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant, contact your family doctor.

A treatment with Daxas (Roflumilast) requires regular monitoring by a doctor. Be sure to see your doctor for all regularly scheduled appointments.Daxas (Roflumilast)
