Description
Daybue (Trofinetide) is an agent used for psychomotor symptoms (problems with how the brain controls movement and coordination, psychomotor impairment can affect how a person moves, talks, and performs everyday activities, due to a disruption between mental and physical functions). It is typically used to treat Rett syndrome in adults and children 2 years of age and older who weigh at least 9 kg. It may also have other uses.

Daybue (Trofinetide) is usually given twice daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may suggest a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not take more of this product, or take it more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. It can be taken with or without food. WARNING: Your healthcare professional may do certain tests before and during your treatment with DAYBUE. These tests may check: The levels of potassium, calcium, magnesium, and electrolytes in your blood, your heart rhythm (heartbeat), your weight In addition to its desired action, this medication may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause fever, irritability or mood changes, tiredness (fatigue) It may cause decreased appetite, diarrhea, vomiting, seizures Contraindications: Do not use this medication if you are allergic (have a hypersensitivity) to any of its ingredients. Taking this medication during pregnancy is contraindicated and harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with this medication requires regular monitoring by a doctor. Be sure to see your doctor for all regularly scheduled appointments.
