Description
Duavive (Estrogens Conjugated Bazedoxifene) is a hormonal agent. It is typically used to help control episodes of sweating and sensation of heat, often referred to as “hot flashes” and “night sweats,” associated with menopause. It may also have other uses.

Duavive (Estrogens Conjugated Bazedoxifene) is typically taken once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Swallow the tablet whole with some water. It may be taken at any time of day, but it should be taken at the same time every day for best effect. WARNING: Estrogens with or without progestins (other hormonal agents) should be used for the shortest time period possible at the lowest dose that relieves your menopausal symptoms. Estrogens with or without progestins should not be used to prevent heart disease, heart attacks, or strokes. People with diabetes should monitor their blood glucose closely to detect any changes in blood glucose control that sometimes occur with use of estrogens. Women may experience increased blood pressure when using estrogen replacement therapy. It is important to have a follow-up examination 3 to 6 months after starting Duavive (Estrogens Conjugated Bazedoxifene) to assess your response to treatment. Examinations should be done at least once a year after the first one. In addition to its desired action, Duavive (Estrogens Conjugated Bazedoxifene) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause abdominal pain, appetite changes, diarrhea, heartburn, gas, nausea, or vomiting It may cause abnormal dreams, acne, decreased sense of touch, dizziness, ear discomfort or hearing changes It may cause breast tenderness, feeling hot, menstrual cramps or spotting, motion sickness It may cause dry eyes, hair loss, muscle pain or spasms, nosebleeds, or rash Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to estrogens, bazedoxifene, or any component of the formulation, undiagnosed abnormal uterine (the womb) bleeding, active or past history of venous thromboembolism (clots in the veins) active or history of arterial thromboembolic disease (stroke.), breast cancer (known, suspected or history of), estrogen (hormone)-dependent cancer (known or suspected), liver impairment or disease, thrombophilic disorders (a condition that increases your risk of blood clots), pregnancy. Taking Duavive (Estrogens Conjugated Bazedoxifene) during pregnancy is contraindicated and harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant, or breastfeeding contact your family doctor. A treatment with Duavive (Estrogens Conjugated Bazedoxifene) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
