Description
Edarbi (Azilsartan) is an antihypertensive agent. It is typically used for the management of hypertension (high blood pressure). It may also have other uses.

Edarbi (Azilsartan) is typically taken once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer without regard to meals. WARNING: Symptomatic hypotension (low blood pressure) may occur upon initiation in patients who are salt- or volume-depleted (e.g., those treated with high-dose diuretics, a type of drug that causes the kidneys to make more urine), correct volume depletion prior to administration In addition to its desired action, Edarbi (Azilsartan) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause diarrhea, dizziness, drowsiness It may cause fatigue, headache, muscle pain or spasms It may cause nausea, rash, trouble sleeping, vomiting Contraindications: concomitant use with aliskiren in patients with diabetes mellitus Taking Edarbi (Azilsartan) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Edarbi (Azilsartan) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
