Description
Emend Tri Pack (Aprepitant) is an antiemetic agent. It is typically used with other medications to help prevent nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy (cancer treatment). It may also have other uses.

Emend Tri Pack (Aprepitant) is typically used once daily. Each capsule contains 80 mg or 125 mg of aprepitant. The recommended dose of EMEND is one 125 mg capsule by mouth one hour before you start your chemotherapy treatment on day 1 and one 80 mg capsule by mouth each morning for the 2 days following your chemotherapy treatment. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer this drug with or without food. WARNING: EMEND may reduce the efficacy of hormonal contraceptives (hormonal contraceptives are birth control medicines. These medicines help prevent pregnancy). Alternative or backup methods should be used during and for 1 month following the last dose of EMEND. In addition to its desired action, Emend Tri Pack (Aprepitant) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause diarrhea, stomach pain, upset stomach, vomiting. It may cause headaches, hair loss, and loss of appetite. It may cause cough, low blood pressure, fatigue, sleep disorders. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to aprepitant or any component of the formulation, concurrent use with Pimozide. Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women.
