Description
Endometrin (Progesterone) is a hormonal agent. It is typically used as part of an in-vitro fertilization (IVF) plan. They help to prepare the uterus lining so that a fertilized egg can be implanted (attached to the uterus) and to maintain a pregnancy once a fertilized egg has been implanted. It may also have other uses.

Endometrin (Progesterone) is typically inserted into the vagina 2 or 3 times daily starting the day after egg retrieval. If pregnancy occurs, treatment may be continued for up to 10 weeks. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. To insert progesterone vaginal tablets, place one tablet in the space provided at the end of the applicator. The tablet should fit snugly and not fall out. While sitting, standing, or lying on your back with your knees bent, gently insert the thin end of the applicator (the one containing the tablet) well into the vagina. Push the plunger to release the tablet. Remove and discard the applicator. Applicators are intended for a single use only. WARNING: Patients must be cautioned about performing tasks that require mental alertness (e.g., operating machinery, driving). Use with caution in patients with a history of depression. Use caution in patients with diabetes. Do not use in liver impairment or disease. Use with caution in patients with renal (kidney) impairment. In addition to its desired action, Endometrin (Progesterone) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause abdominal pain, constipation, muscle cramps, nausea It may cause overgrowth of breast tissue, breast pain, depression, drowsiness, headache, nervousness It may cause decreased libido, bloating, diarrhea, vomiting, vaginal discharge, dizziness, pain Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to progesterone or any component of the formulation, including palm oil, undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, liver impairment or disease, known or suspected malignancy (cancer) of the breast or genital organs, missed abortion, active thromboembolic (formation in a blood vessel of a clot) disorders, or a history of hormone-associated thromboembolic (formation in a blood vessel of a clot) disorders. Taking Endometrin (Progesterone) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. It can only be indicated during the first trimester of pregnancy for use as part of an assisted reproduction (ART) regimen. There is yet limited and inconclusive data on the risk of congenital anomalies. Pregnant women should not use this product. A treatment with Endometrin (Progesterone) requires regular monitoring by a doctor. Be sure to see your doctor for all regularly scheduled appointments.Endometrin (Progesterone)
