Description
Fetzima (Levomilnacipran) is an antidepressant. It is typically used to treat major depressive disorder (mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest). It may also have other uses.

Fetzima (Levomilnacipran) is typically used once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer with or without food at approximately the same time each day. WARNING: Use caution in renal (kidney) impairment, dosage reduction recommended in patients with moderate or severe renal (kidney) impairment, not recommended in patients with end stage renal disease. Use caution with a previous seizure disorder (abnormal brain activity). Abrupt discontinuation or interruption of antidepressant therapy has been associated with a discontinuation syndrome (range of symptoms that may occur in patients taking the drug after stopping quickly). Symptoms arising may vary with antidepressant commonly include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headaches, lightheadedness, dizziness, diminished appetite, sweating, and sleep disturbances In addition to its desired action, Fetzima (Levomilnacipran) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause nausea, constipation, vomiting, excessive sweating It may cause erectile dysfunction (inability to have or keep an erection), decreased appetite It may cause tachycardia (fast heart rate), palpitations (feeling your heart flutter or skip a beat) Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to levomilnacipran, milnacipran, or any component of the formulation, use of MAO inhibitors (class of drugs) intended to treat psychiatric disorders (concurrently or within 7 days of discontinuing levomilnacipran, or within 2 weeks of discontinuing the MAO inhibitor), initiation of levomilnacipran in a patient receiving linezolid or intravenous methylene blue Taking Fetzima (Levomilnacipran) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant, or breastfeeding contact your family doctor. A treatment with Fetzima (Levomilnacipran) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
