Description
Florinef (Fludrocortisone) is a corticosteroid agent. It is typically used to treat Addison’s disease (a disorder that occurs when your body doesn’t produce enough of certain hormones). It may also have other uses.

Florinef (Fludrocortisone) is typically used once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer this drug without regard to food. WARNING: Use with caution in patients with diabetes mellitus (high blood sugar level). Use with caution in patients with gastrointestinal (stomach and intestines) diseases. Use with caution in patients with hepatic (liver) impairment. Use with caution in patients with renal (kidney) impairment. Use with caution in patients with osteoporosis (a disease that weakens bones to the point where they break easily). Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular (heart) problems. In addition to its desired action, Florinef (Fludrocortisone) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause edema (swelling), hypertension (high blood pressure), hallucination, headache. It may cause hyperglycemia (high blood sugar level), skin rash, hirsutism (excessive growth of hair). It may cause sleep problems, stomach pain, facial redness, acne. Contraindications: If you are allergic to fludrocortisone or any ingredients of Florinef (Fludrocortisone), if you have a widespread fungal infection. Taking Florinef (Fludrocortisone) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Florinef (Fludrocortisone) requires regular monitoring by a doctor. Be sure to see your doctor for all regularly scheduled appointments.Florinef (Fludrocortisone)
