Description
Flunarizine (Flunarizine) is an antimigraine agent. It is typically used for prevention of migraine in patients with frequent and severe attacks, who have not responded satisfactorily to other treatments, and/or do not tolerate other therapy. It may also have other uses.

Flunarizine (Flunarizine) is typically used once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer with water at bedtime. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Take it with food. WARNING: May precipitate depression, greater risk in younger patients. Monitor for depressive symptoms and discontinue use if depressive symptoms occur. Use is contraindicated in patients with a history of depressive illness. In addition to its desired action, Flunarizine (Flunarizine) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause drowsiness, anxiety, depression, dizziness, extrapyramidal reaction (movement disorder), fatigue, insomnia, sedation (calmness), sleep disorders, vertigo It may cause skin rash It may cause weight gain, galactorrhea (breasts leaking milk), increased serum prolactin, menstrual disease Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to flunarizine or any component of the formulation, history of depression, pre-existing symptoms of Parkinson's disease (a progressive nervous system disorder that affects movement), or other extrapyramidal disorders (movement disorders) Taking Flunarizine (Flunarizine) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Flunarizine (Flunarizine) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
