Description
Fucidin (Fusidic Acid) is an antibiotic. It is typically used in the treatment of bacterial skin infections. It may also have other uses.
Additional information
Fucidin (Fusidic Acid) is typically used two to three times daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. For topical use only, do not use near the eyes. WARNING: prolonged use may result in superinfection, which is an additional infection (including fungal infections). Discontinue use if superinfection occurs. Do not use Fucidin Cream or Ointment more than 14 days. In addition to its desired action, Fucidin (Fusidic Acid) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause skin rash, conjunctivitis (inflammation of the eye). It may cause application site pain, skin blistering. It may cause hypersensitivity reaction. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to fusidic acid or any component of the formulation. Taking Fucidin (Fusidic Acid) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Fucidin (Fusidic Acid) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
