Description
Isentress HD (Raltegravir high-dose) is an antiviral agent. It is typically used in combination with other antiretroviral medications to treat HIV infection (a virus that attacks the body’s immune system. If HIV is not treated, it can lead to AIDS). It may also have other uses.

Isentress HD (Raltegravir high-dose) is typically used once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. May be administered with or without food. ISENTRESS film-coated tablet must be swallowed whole. WARNING: A severe allergic reaction called hypersensitivity syndrome has occurred for some people with the use of isentress. Discontinue this drug immediately if signs or symptoms of severe skin reactions or hypersensitivity reactions develop. Do not switch between the film-coated tablet and the chewable tablet without talking with your healthcare provider first. In addition to its desired action, Isentress HD (Raltegravir high-dose) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause abdominal pain, diarrhea, difficulty sleeping, dizziness, fatigue. It may cause headache, heartburn, nausea, rash, vomiting. It may cause upper respiratory tract infections, cough, fever. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to raltegravir or any other component of the formulation. Taking Isentress HD (Raltegravir high-dose) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Isentress HD (Raltegravir high-dose) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
