Description
Kenalog (Triamcinolone) is a corticosteroid agent. It is typically used to treat the symptoms of rheumatic or arthritic disorders (disorder that affects the joints), dermatoses (any skin defect or lesion on the skin), inflammatory and allergic systemic conditions and multiple sclerosis (a condition that can affect the brain and spinal cord). It may also have other uses.

Kenalog (Triamcinolone)'s dosage depends on the condition being treated. Your doctor will administer Kenalog (Triamcinolone) to you in a hospital or clinical setting. For Intra-articular ( into a joint) or Intralesional ( into skin lesions) use only. Not FOR INTRAVENOUS, INTRAMUSCULAR, INTRAOCULAR, EPIDURAL, OR INTRATHECAL USE. WARNING: This medication should be used with caution in patients with congestive heart failure (the heart is unable to pump blood around the body properly), hypertension (high blood pressure), or renal (kidneys) insufficiency. Use with caution in patients with gastrointestinal diseases due to perforation risk. In addition to its desired action, Kenalog (Triamcinolone) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat It may cause increased pain or swelling, joint stiffness, fever, eye pain, eye problems It may cause rapid weight gain, shortness of breath, stomach cramps, vomiting, diarrhea, bloody stools. It may cause severe headache, ringing in your ears, dizziness, nausea, pain behind your eyes, stomach pain, lightheadedness Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to triamcinolone or any component of the formulation. Taking Kenalog (Triamcinolone) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Kenalog (Triamcinolone) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
