Description
Komboglyze (Metformin Saxagliptin immediate-release) is an antidiabetic agent. It is typically used as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control by adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It may also have other uses.

Komboglyze (Metformin Saxagliptin immediate-release) is typically used twice daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer with food to decrease stomach and intestinal upset. WARNING: Do not take it if have type 1 diabetes, pre-coma or coma, or diabetic ketoacidosis (a serious complication of diabetes that occurs when your body produces high levels of blood acids called ketones) In addition to its desired action, Komboglyze (Metformin Saxagliptin immediate-release) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause cough, decreased sexual ability It may cause increased sensitivity of skin to sunlight (skin rash, itching, redness or other discoloration of skin, or severe sunburn) It may cause dizziness, drowsiness (mild), dry mouth It may cause fatigue, headache, diarrhea Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to saxagliptin, metformin or any ingredients of Komboglyze (Metformin Saxagliptin immediate-release) Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Komboglyze (Metformin Saxagliptin immediate-release) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
