Description
Levofloxacin 5% Dextrose (Levofloxacin) is an antibiotic. It is typically used to treat adults with certain lung, sinus, skin and urinary tract infections caused by certain germs called bacteria. It may also have other uses.

Levofloxacin 5% Dextrose (Levofloxacin)'s dosage depends on condition. Your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Your doctor or nurse will administer Levofloxacin 5% Dextrose (Levofloxacin) to you in a hospital or clinical setting. WARNING: Serious hypersensitivity and/or anaphylactic reactions have been reported in patients receiving levofloxacin. The administration of levofloxacin should be discontinued immediately, at the first appearance of a skin rash or any other sign of hypersensitivity. Use with caution in patients with renal (kidney) impairment. Use with caution in patients with a known or suspected central nervous system (brain and spinal cord) disorder. In addition to its desired action, Levofloxacin 5% Dextrose (Levofloxacin) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, constipation, dizziness. It may cause headaches, difficulty in sleeping, difficulty breathing or swallowing, swelling in the face, tongue or throat. It may cause hypersensitivity reactions (hives, itching, skin rash), chest pain. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to levofloxacin, any component of the formulation, or to similar agents. Taking Levofloxacin 5% Dextrose (Levofloxacin) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Levofloxacin 5% Dextrose (Levofloxacin) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
