Description
Loprox (Ciclopirox) a topical antifungal agent. It is typically used to treat certain types of fungal infections of the skin. It may also have other uses.

Loprox (Ciclopirox) is typically used twice daily, in the morning and evening, for a minimum of 4 weeks. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Gently massage the medication into the affected and surrounding skin areas. If within 2 weeks there is no improvement in symptoms such as itching, call your doctor. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. WARNING: For topical use only, avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes, or in the vagina. Use of occlusive dressings or wrappings should be avoided. Use with caution in patient with low immunity. These events may occur at anytime during therapy and without warning. In addition to its desired action, Loprox (Ciclopirox) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause application site burning, local irritation and local pain. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to ciclopirox or any component of the formulation. Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women.
