Mar Domperidone (Domperidone) is typically used three times per day. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer 15 to 30 minutes prior to meals and at bedtime if needed.
WARNING: Domperidone may be associated with an increased risk of heart problems, particularly with doses >30 mg or when used by patients >60 years of age. Use the lowest possible dose for the shortest duration necessary. Use caution with a personal or family history of breast cancer. Use with caution in mild liver impairment, do not use in patients with moderate to severe liver impairment. Use with caution in patients with severe renal (kidney) impairment, monitor renal (kidney) function regularly, particularly with long-term therapy. In addition to its desired action, Mar Domperidone (Domperidone) may cause some side effects, notably:
It may cause headaches, migraine
It may cause dry mouth
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to domperidone or any component of the formulation, tumor of the pituitary gland (a pea-sized body attached to the base of the brain, the pituitary is important in controlling growth and development), significant electrolyte disturbances, underlying cardiac (heart) problems/ diseases, moderate or severe hepatic (liver) impairment, patients with stomach or intestine bleeding, intestinal blockage or perforation, concomitant use with antifungals (e.g., ketoconazole), erythromycin and similar agents, ritonavir and similar agents, or nefazodone.
Taking Mar Domperidone (Domperidone) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.
