Description
Methotrimeprazine (Methotrimeprazine) is a neuroleptic agent. It is typically used for the management of psychotic disorders such as acute and chronic schizophrenia (serious mental disorder in which people interpret reality abnormally). It may also have other uses.

Methotrimeprazine (Methotrimeprazine)'s dosage depends on the condition (usual range: 6 mg - 1g). Take it with food WARNING: This medication increases the risk of death in elderly patients with dementia-related psychosis (a severe mental disorder in which thought and emotions are so impaired that contact is lost with external reality). In addition to its desired action, Methotrimeprazine (Methotrimeprazine) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause orthostatic hypotension (low blood pressure), prolonged QT interval on ECG (heart rhythm abnormalities), pulmonary embolism (clot) It may cause a dermatological reaction (allergic skin reaction, skin photosensitivity) It may cause decreased glucose tolerance, hyperglycemia (high glucose levels), hyponatremia (low sodium levels), weight gain It may cause constipation, xerostomia (dry mouth) Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to methotrimeprazine, phenothiazines (chlorpromazine, fluphenazine) or any component of the formulation, hepatic (liver) disease, hematologic disorders (blood problems) Taking Methotrimeprazine (Methotrimeprazine) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Methotrimeprazine (Methotrimeprazine) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
