Description
Metonia (Metoclopramide) is an antiemetic agent. It is typically used to use to increase motion within the intestines. It may also be used to control nausea and vomiting. It may also have other uses.

Metonia (Metoclopramide) is typically used three to four times daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Take this drug 30 minutes prior to meals. WARNING: Metoclopramide may cause tardive dyskinesia (involuntary movements) to develop. If you experience muscle twitching or abnormal movements of the face or tongue, contact your doctor as soon as possible. Use with caution in patients with renal (kidney) problems. Use with caution in patients with hepatic (liver) problems. Use with caution or avoid in Parkinson's disease patients (a brain disorder that leads to shaking, stiffness, and difficulty with walking, balance, and coordination), may have increased risk of extrapyramidal symptoms (involuntary movements). In addition to its desired action, Metonia (Metoclopramide) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause difficulty sleeping, dizziness, involuntary movements. It may cause drowsiness, fatigue, headache, restlessness, skin rash. Contraindications: If you are allergic to metoclopramide or any of the ingredients of Metonia (Metoclopramide), if you have a condition where faster passage of materials through the stomach might be dangerous (e.g., in cases of stomach bleeding, or breaks in the stomach lining). Taking Metonia (Metoclopramide) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Metonia (Metoclopramide) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
