Description
Mint Furosemide (Furosemide) is a water pill (diuretic). It is typically used to treat edema (swelling) caused by heart failure, ascites (fluid collection in the abdomen) due to cirrhosis of the liver (replacement of the normal liver tissue by scar tissue), kidney disease, or pulmonary edema (excess fluid in the lungs). It may also have other uses.

Mint Furosemide (Furosemide) is typically taken one to three times a day. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. It can be taken with or without food. Swallow the whole tablet. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often than prescribed. Do not chew or crush Mint Furosemide (Furosemide). If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. WARNING: This medication is a strong diuretic (water pill). It can lead to a profound water loss and electrolyte depletion. Use with caution in patients with diabetes as it may increase blood sugar levels, and in patients with prostate hyperplasia (enlargement of the prostate) or bladder neck obstruction, may cause urinary retention (inability to completely empty the bladder). In addition to its desired action, Mint Furosemide (Furosemide) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause hearing loss or ringing in the ear (ototoxicity), kidney injury due to fluid loss, or electrolyte depletion (low blood levels of calcium, potassium, or magnesium). It may cause an increase in blood sugar levels (hyperglycemia), orthostatic hypotension (low blood pressure that happens when you stand up from sitting or lying down). It may cause diarrhea, constipation, nausea, or vomiting. It may cause thirst, dry mouth, or blurred vision. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to Furosemide or any component of the formulation, anuria (failure of the kidneys to produce urine). Taking Mint Furosemide (Furosemide) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.
