Description

Miochol E (Acetylcholine) is ophthalmic agent. It is typically used in ophthalmic surgery to obtain miosis (excessive constriction of the pupil of the eye) of the iris in seconds after delivery of the lens in cataract surgery (a medical condition in which the lens of the eye becomes progressively opaque, resulting in blurred vision), in penetrating keratoplasty (surgery carried out on the cornea, especially corneal transplantation), iridectomy: a surgical procedure to remove part of the iris), and other anterior segment surgery where rapid miosis (excessive constriction of the pupil of the eye) may be required. It may also have other uses.
