Description
Neupro (Rotigotine) is an antiparkinsonian agent. It is typically used to treat symptoms of Parkinson’s disease (a brain disorder that leads to shaking, stiffness, and difficulty with walking, balance, and coordination). It may also have other uses.

Neupro (Rotigotine) is typically used once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Apply patch to clean, dry, hairless area of intact healthy skin on the front of the abdomen, thigh, hip, flank, shoulder, or upper arm at approximately the same time daily. Remove from pouch immediately before use and press patch firmly in place on skin for 30 seconds. Application sites should be rotated on a daily basis. Do not apply to same application site more than once every 14 days or apply patch to skin that is oily, irritated, or damaged, or where it will be rubbed by tight clothing. Avoid exposing patch to external heat sources (e.g., heating pad, electric blanket, heat lamp, hot tub, direct sunlight). If applied to hairy area, shave ≥3 days prior to applying patch. If patch falls off, immediately apply a new one to a new site. WARNING: Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular (heart) problems. Use with caution in patients with pre-existing dyskinesia (abnormality or impairment of voluntary movement), therapy may cause or exacerbate dyskinesia. In addition to its desired action, Neupro (Rotigotine) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause fatigue, hyperhidrosis (abnormally excessive sweating that's not necessarily related to heat or exercise). It may cause dizziness, somnolence, fatigue, application site reaction, edema peripheral (swelling). It may cause nausea, vomiting, hallucination, headache. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to rotigotine or any component of the formulation. Taking Neupro (Rotigotine) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Neupro (Rotigotine) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
